This vase has an open triple barley twist running up through the centre of it and emerging out of the top that was turned and carved from a piece of Purpleheart. Its purple, red colour and shape suggest flames but still combine harmoniously with the shape of the vase. The surrounding white wood of the open barley twist vase was created from Sycamore and the binds were carved with a double curvature. The black base and top were turned from Ebony and contrast brilliantly with the white wood of the vase.
The woods used are Sycamore, Purpleheart and Ebony.
